What
brings/brought you to TRMA?
This was
my first time participating in the conference as my responsibilities
recently increase to include all of our client segments. Telecommunication
is a key focus for us and I came to learn more and support
our dedicated industry sales team.
What
did you enjoy most?
Meeting
new people, especially our clients and the sessions that provided
more insight regarding current trends and challenges the industry
is facing, particularly those brought about by the current
economic climate. Gaining that insight was very helpful in
determining the focus, capabilities, and investments we need
to make to assist our clients succeed now and in the future.
What
would you change?
I
would suggest having the affiliates meet outside of the regular
meeting, perhaps the evening prior to the conference or a
breakfast, that would allow affiliate participation in the
breakout sessions that ran concurrently with the affiliate
meeting.
How
does TRMA help you in your role?
It provides key insights and thought leadership as well as
creates a forum for discussion with industry leaders. It facilitates
a deeper understanding of how we can best respond to existing
and emerging requirements to one of the key industries we
serve.

What brings/brought
you to TRMA?
Over the years I have heard great things about TRMA from current
and prospective clients as the best forum for risk and recovery
professionals to come together to discuss the telecommunications
industry. This is my first year having the opportunity to
attend TRMA brought about by Omnium Worldwide and West Asset
Management coming together. Over the years Omnium has been
a major contributor to TRMA from a business affiliate perspective
and the new West Asset Management will continue to do so.
What
did you enjoy most?
I
personally enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with telecommunications
professionals on the creditor side, as well as, the fellow
business affiliates.
I thought the presentations and activities where extremely
good, including Marci Carris from Sprint Nextel with her industry
insights, Johnny Bench,
Cy Wakeman’s presentation on “leadership during
change” was especially thought provoking, and the juggler
was entertaining and delivered a good message.
What
would you change?
Given
this is my first event; I am not sure what I would change
at this point. I plan on attending many more in the future
and may have a better perspective after a few events.
How
does TRMA help you in your role?
For me I see it as an opportunity to gather with industry
leaders in the telecommunications receivable and risk management
field and stay abreast of key trends, learn about business
best practices, and gain better perspective on the challenges
faced by credit grantors. There is also clearly a great opportunity
to stay networked with current and prospective customers,
along with industry peers. TRMA will help me keep my organization
focused on the leading developments within our industry

What
brings/brought you to TRMA?
After my first attendance I was hooked. I find many of the
sessions to be interesting and unique compared to other conferences
I have attended and continue to attend. I have repeatedly
told my peers and anyone that will listen about the juggler
at this last conference. What a unique and interesting motivational
speaker he was, all of it was relevant to our day to day lives
and our business. He deserved the standing ovation he got!
I also enjoy meeting people within our industry and spending
time with the people I know from years gone by. It is an overall
excellent experience.
What
did you enjoy most?
The motivational speaker mentioned above, however –
I enjoyed the whole conference.
What
would you change?
I would add a little more networking time.
How
does TRMA help you in your role?
Building and maintaining relationships is critical to my business,
at TRMA I am able to spent time with my peers within the industry,
my competitors, my clients, my potential clients and simply
meet people that are in my industry.

What
brings/brought you to TRMA?
This is a venue within my industry where I can spend time
with many of my vendors and walk away with a learning experience
to some of the nuances within the telecommunications world.
What
did you enjoy most?
I enjoyed the motivational speakers at this conference, both
Johnny Bench and the Juggler (whose name I cannot recall,
but the experience was awesome).
What
would you change?
I would like to see flexibility with the schedule, a little
more free time and if a session ends early the moderator should
not be so stressed about filling the time. We want more time
to network.
How
does TRMA help you in your role?
It keeps me informed on issues within our industry and also
provides this knowledge to my vendors. |
